This piece of furniture is designed to fit the awkward space between the bed and window in my current dorm room. Throughout my first semester, the space proved inconvienent and bothersome. I saw an opportunity to design something that would solve this problem. My solution is a piece of furniture that when in place serves both as a bedside table and shelving unit.

The design started as a simple rectangular form (lower left) and evolved into two angled forms on either side of the middle shelves.

Each of the middle shelves are connected with three cross dowels on either side, allowing it to be disassembled for easy transport and storage. 

Furniture is not only functionally successful, but also is designed to fit the aesthetic of the space.
